Not saving a document you've been writing for two hours? A word tip to the rescue
I don't know if this has happened to anyone:
- I wrote a word document for a long time without saving it and suddenly it crashed.
- Freshly saved documents accidentally deleted, overwritten
Old Y believes that no matter what kind of situation it is, once you meet it you want to die.
In fact, word has a small skill, can easily deal with word suddenly died or did not have time to save this situation, only need a simple setup.
Today, the old Y on Word2013 and WPS2016 as an example, to give you a brief introduction, the next time if you encounter a document crash, not to panic.
01
Setting the save auto-recovery time
In word2013, as shown in the figure below, in File - Options - Save, set the time interval to save the automatic recovery information and file storage location.
Here the recommended time interval is set to 1 ~ 2 minutes appropriate, in addition, in order to facilitate everyone to see clearly, the old Y in the desktop of a new word backup folder, and will automatically restore the file location here.
02
Modify the backup file format
The old Y will just write unsaved word documents, through the task manager directly off to simulate word crash scenarios.
This time to open just in the desktop of the new word backup folder, you can see an additional file with the suffix asd.
We just need to change the suffix to doc and open it to find the document we wrote earlier.
In WPS2016, the location of the autosave can be found in Options - Backup Settings, as shown below.

Some students ask, how come my files don't have a suffix? In fact, it is very simple, windows file suffix is hidden by default, you need to remove the √ in the following position:
1. win7
2. win10
Well, these are today's tweets and I hope they are helpful.
